Lucy Pevensie and a date with Dad

First of all, what's weird is that everytime I load pictures to this blog, they go on in reverse order. Guess I need to start going in reverse!
On Wednesday this week Brynley was supposed to dress as her favorite book/movie character as part of her school's literacy week. She narrowed it down to Fancy Nancy or Lucy (Lucy Pevensie from The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe). Zach & the girls have started reading a condensed version of the book and Brynley really likes it. Lucy won out so we had to find something Lucy-like for her to wear. She ended up wearing a jumper my mom made me when I was in kindergarten, a red cardigan she already had & some knee socks (very similar to the illustration in said book). She even got to wear her "fancy coat" to school to complete the outfit.
Then Wednesday evening, Zach took Sydney out for her first "date with Daddy." She was told she could go eat anywhere she wanted...she chose Wendy's. Since there is not much to do in Bolivar, the next stop was a coffee shop where they split a hot chocolate & chocolate muffin. Sydney's favorite part was sucking the whipped cream off the top of the hot chocolate - Zach had to go ask the owner of the coffee shop for more whipped cream! She had a blast. It was good for her to go with Daddy b/c she's a big momma's girl and will almost always choose to go places with me, not Daddy. In fact, the last time Brynley mentioned wanting to go on a date with Dad, Syd said, "Not me, I want to go on a date with Mommy." She had so much fun and can't wait to do it again.

Christmas Is A Coming (but not for a month or so)....

Ok, I am always the first to complain when Wal Mart starts stocking Christmas items on their shelves prior to the conclusion of Halloween and I'm definately not one to bring out the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving has passed. (Here's the but) BUT, I don't think that I have managed to send my Christmas cards out on time (meaning prior to the actual Christmas day) for a few years now, so getting cards ready will be the one and only Christmas activity I will be participating in early this year. You should also consider getting started a bit early, especially if you are going to do a photo card like so many people seem to do (they can only print so many at a time people). I'm going to order cards through Shutterfly this year, mainly because (unlike many other choices out there) they offer actual Christmas cards...like that say Merry Christmas or Blessed Christmas instead of the ever so pc happy holidays. So, with this said, here are a few of the cards I like:

Leave me a comment and tell me which one you like the best!

Also, I have two photo calendars yet to put together for the grandmas...go here to make your own: http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars/wall-calendars

I still need to get Noah's baby announcements done, so instead of constantly telling myself I'll make them I should probably just order some: http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationary/announcements

Halloween

Here are some pictures from Halloween this year. Brynley was Pocahontas (sp?), Sydney was Little Red Riding Hood and Noah was Superman. He wore the costume my brother wore when he was little. It was cute!

Yikes!

So, I have every intention of updating this blog with pictures, fun stories & such....just as soon as I get my house in order. This is difficult for me since we still have not fully unpacked from the move in July. Much prayer is needed to help me uncover us all from all the junk we keep around. We'll talk again soon (hopefully).
PS...Who else is loving the fall?!!

First big boy haircut

Noah got his first haircut yesterday. He needed a trim around the ears & neck. Hes almost 3 months old. This is only the 2nd time Zach's hair lady had cut a baby's hair.

Some pictures of the last 2 weeks

The last two weeks have been fast and slow all at the same time. When you are sleep deprived, that is just the way it goes. Noah had already surpassed his birth weight at his 2 week check up, but has slowed down a bit on weight gain. I would love for him to have gotten to 7 lbs already, but we'll see what happens. He is a good baby, sleeping much of the time and only keeping us up for bits of the night every few days. If you will pray for him, we are hoping he won't have Pyloric Stenosis, which is a hereditary thing (google it). Zach did not have it, but his dad did and it is commonly passed down through generations in white, firstborn males. We would know for sure if he had it when he hits three weeks old (this Sunday). If he had pyloric stenosis, it would require surgery, which would knock me for a loop. He has had a few major barfing sessions, but we are praying it is just a fluke. Here are some pics from the last two weeks:
